శిశుర్వెత్తి పశుర్వెత్తి, వెత్తి గాన రసం ఫనిహి

This is a well known proweb in India. It is said that music not only attracts babies and cattle, but also venomous creatures like snakes. Every music in the world has it's own history and its own importance. But it can be noticed that those people who have mastered Indian classical music, mainly Carnatic music are known to master any type of music.

The origin of Carnatic music , or the South Indian classical music can be traced back to the age of vedas . Bharata's Natya Sastra , from around the 5th century A.D. , and Saranga Deva's Sangita Ratnakara , from the early13th century A.D. , are considered the to be the earliest recorded documents available on the theory and performance of Indian classical music . The history of Carnatic music is incomplete without stating about the contributions made by the saints Sri Purandharadasaru ( 15th century A.D.) , Sri Thyagarajar , Sri Shyama Sastri ( all of 18th century A.D.) , and left an enduring legacy of compositions. This tradition has a rich heritage and is perfectly attuned with Indian culture. To make an effort, which is a very small contribution for the vast culture of Carnatic music, Lalitha Shastreeya Sangeeta Vidyalayam is being started, well equiped with talented musicians, in the quest of training future generations, for their physical and mental peacefullness.
